The queen Isabella Causeway gives easy access to the Island. Plenty of bay fishing, shelling, horse back riding, dolphin watch. Many restaurants, concerts, craft sales, or just a pleasant walk on the beach..

 

This waterpark opens on to the beautiful beaches of South Padre Island.It has many water atttractions, including slides,tube chutes, uphill water coasters a 5 story sand castle and the world's largest surfing ride.Plenty of water attractions for the family.

Fishing, boating and birding. Lighted Fishing piers, boat launch, short boat ride for bay fishing or just fish at the Arroyo. 

Shopping/Shopping Malls

Because of its magical healing power, Aloe Vera is featured in many different products including skin care and home remedies. The center features a 15-minute video on how aloe is grown, harvested and processed. There are many fields around the area. A variety of aloe products are available in the gift shop and each visitor receives a free plant.

The HEB Food stores are 7  miles from the community.

The Super K-Mart is only 8-miles from Kenwood. The store is open everyday of the week.

The new Rio Grande Valley premium outlets shopping center opens 11/02/2006. National designer brands like Nike, Coach, Banana Republic, GapOutlet, Cole Haan, Calvin Klein, Guess, Nine West, Sony, Tommy Hilfiger, Ann Taylor and Adidas. These are just a few of the many stores that will be at the new outlet shopping center.

Progreso is a small border town with many restaurants, plenty of shopping available and plenty of entertainment.

The Super Wal-mart is open everday of the week. The store is open 24 hours.
